The Co-Op is our home base... It's our common ground.
- Lisa Piccirillo,
singer/songwriter The Co-Op is a community of like-minded artists and musicians working together to create an authentic, organic niche within the entertainment industry. A trusted source for both art and inspiration, The Co-Op provides a platform for artists to create, produce and release their work, ultimately disseminating it to the public at large. Presently, The Co-Op is cultivating the talents of designers, photographers and singer/songwriters. Much like its namesake, The Co-Op's members all contribute something to the group, such as production experience, graphic design services, or songwriting assistance. The same way a cooperative market doesn't buy into the for-profit chain store mentality, This Co-Op isn't looking for indie-label glory or big label bottom lines. Rather, The Co-Op is based on the simple idea of individuals multiplying their own reach and clout by joining forces with like-minded members of their community. All parties involved help one another and reap the rewards. The Co-Op maintains a focus on cultivating and refining the talents of its partners, providing the tools for each artist to take the next step, maintain forward momentum and build long-term career sustainability. It was this sense of tight-knit friendship, value and cooperation that led to the ultimate creative spark for The Co-Op's overall brand. Based on a series of photographs, tied together by elements of nature and vibrancy of color, ATW presented Syd with a final logo for The Co-Op, which the pair agreed on almost instantaneously. As creative-minded individuals, it was only natural that the mission and goals of The Co-Op evolved not from an outline or agenda, but from an image reminiscent of their roots. "I think we all attract what and who we need, whether it's an excellent teacher, fellow musician, or a friend, by combining our efforts," says Piccirillo of her relationship with Thomas and Syd. The hope is we can harness that same community energy and apply it to some of the bigger connections we're looking to make. Through the integrity of this group of artists, maybe we can secure national distribution for one or all of these records, or spark the attention of a film/tv licensing house using the same concepts that brought us together in the first place." By using the community they've created, The Co-Op is committed
to effecting change in their corner of the music business. |
